Tim Sweeney Says Epic Is Retooling Its Teams Around AI
Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney says the company is moving developers around to retool for AI, aiming to build more, not to cut staff.

A Big Pivot at Epic

In a post on X on October 12, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney wrote: "We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic." Developers are being moved around so teams can retool for what he called maximum AI acceleration.
According to Sweeney, the goal is not to do the same work with fewer people. He says the aim is to let everyone at Epic build more and better things, and to bring those benefits to every team using Unreal Engine.
Epic has not detailed which teams or projects are involved. As the studio behind Fortnite and Unreal Engine, any change in how it builds tools can reach Fortnite Creative and UEFN creators too. You can read Tim Sweeney's full post on X from the source link below.
